ANALYSIS: The Arizona Diamondbacks have had to lean on pitcher Slade Cecconi earlier than they expected to this season due to the injuries of Merrill Kelly (shoulder) and Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder). Nonetheless, Cecconi has shown some positive things on the mound for the Diamondbacks in his first couple of starts.

He gave up just two runs on two hits with three strikeouts across six innings in his first start of the year against the San Francisco Giants. He then threw six innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts in his next outing against the Seattle Mariners. Despite struggling in his most recent start, though, Cecconi has surely paved his way onto fantasy rosters in the first month of the season.
The right-hander might only be rostered in 11% of Yahoo leagues right now, but if he puts together a few nice outings in a row, expect that number to rise. That could also happen very shortly, as Cecconi will likely have back-to-back starts against a Cincinnati Reds offense that has scored just 26 runs over their last 10 contests.
