Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Owen Murphy was the club's first-round pick in 2022 and has flashed significant upside ever since making his pro debut. The right-hander gets good spin behind his offerings, making up for a lack of velocity likely caused by his relatively undersized 6-foot-1 frame. His fastball registers in the low 90s. He also throws a slider with good break and a slow, loopy curveball that misses enough bats. Finally, he's working on improving his changeup. Murphy was quite effective in his outing last week, striking out 10 batters and allowing just one hit over seven scoreless innings. He has looked brilliant at the High-A level this year, never allowing more than two runs in a single outing. If he continues to pitch well, he could earn a promotion to Double-A by the end of May.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

Atlanta Braves starting pitching prospect Owen Murphy has been one of the best pitchers in all of the minor leagues this season, and he posted another dominant outing on Wednesday. Murphy tossed five innings of two-run ball with three hits, two walks, and struck out eight. This start brings the 20-year-old to a 1.82 ERA and 0.78 WHIP with 49 punchouts across 34 ⅔ innings. Murphy has yet to allow more than two earned runs in his six starts this season and is making a case for a promotion to Double-A. Even though Murphy is still a couple of years away from his major league debut, dynasty managers should pay close attention to him as he is developing into an elite strikeout pitcher and could be promoted to Double-A fairly soon.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Atlanta Braves starting pitching prospect Owen Murphy threw seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts en route to his third victory of the season. Murphy brought a no-hitter into the seventh inning but surrendered a leadoff triple to second baseman Loidel Chapelli. The 20-year-old is now riding a stellar 1.13 ERA and 0.63 WHIP in 24 innings at High-A. This season has been a major turnaround for Murphy, as he posted a 4.76 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 17 innings at High-A last year. The fifth-ranked prospect in the Atlanta system, according to MLB Pipeline, is not projected to reach the major leagues until 2026 but should continue to raise his dynasty stock as he moves through the minor leagues.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Owen Murphy struck out 12 batters, surrendering one run over 5 2/3 innings pitched during his most recent appearance for Low-A Augusta. The 2022 first-round draft pick has struggled early on in his professional career, posting a 4.65 ERA through 11 starts this season, though his 29.4% strikeout rate is certainly a silver lining. At only 19 years old, Murphy is the second-ranked pitching prospect in the Braves organization. He's at least a couple of years of development away from ascending to the majors, though he projects as a mid-rotation starter down the road. There is nothing actionable for fantasy managers now, but Murphy will be a player to watch.--Kevin Hickey
