7 months agoMiami Marlins outfield prospect Victor Mesa Jr. went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored on Sunday for Triple-A Jacksonville. The Marlins' top-ranked offensive prospect is having a great season for the Jumbo Shrimp, slashing .298/.362/.500 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored, and a 7:8 BB:K. Strikingly though, the 22-year-old has yet to record a stolen base thus far after swiping 16 bags last season. With the Marlins losers of seven straight and owners of the worst win percentage in all of baseball, it wouldn't be surprising to see Mesa Jr. get the call to the majors at some point this season.
