MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Reid Detmers Under 5.5 hits allowed (-105, DraftKings sportsbook)
Reid Demters is off to a white-hot start to begin the season, even if he coughed up four earned runs his last time out. The left-hander owns a 2.12 ERA through five starts and has allowed more than 5.5 hits in just two of his five starts on the season, both of which came over his last two starts.
He didn't even come close to this total in each of his first three starts, allowing a combined eight hits in that time. The Twins are tied for 23rd in the league with an even 200 hits on the season, so they aren't exactly knocking the ball around. This seems like fair value.
Austin Gomber Over 6.5 hits allowed (-125, DraftKings sportsbook)
Well, considering the over/under in this one is 16 (!), we should expect some offense in this one and Austin Gomber is likely to get touched up.
Gomber owns a decent 4.32 ERA on the season and has allowed six hits in three of his five starts. While he has yet to go over this total this season, keep in mind the Astros sit third in baseball with 250 hits on the season. Of course, Coors Field helps this total but the Astros remain a potent offense, even if their 10-17 record doesn't reflect that.
Taijuan Walker Under 3.5 strikeouts (-115, DraftKings sportsbook)
Taijuan Walker (shoulder) makes his season debut on Sunday afternoon but, of course, he's unlikely to get deep into this one, even if he went 6 1/3 innings in his final rehab start at Triple-A.
Let's consider that Walker struck out all of two hitters in his two starts and 11 innings at Triple-A during his rehab. Add in his lone start at Single-A and Walker punched out just six hitters across 15 innings while looking to get his shoulder right prior to his season debut.
Add in the fact that the Padres sit fifth with a 19.8% K% and we should be in business with the under.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Jose Altuve Over 0.5 RBI (-115 DraftKings sportsbook)
As noted, we should expect plenty of runs in this Astros/Rockies tilt on Sunday and why should we expect Altuve to not be right in the middle of the action?
I mean, he has just eight RBI through 27 games on the season, which is odd considering he has slugged six home runs. Hitting .336 with a .236 isolated power and a .980 OPS should lead to more than eight RBI.
2024 AL OPS Leaders
Jose Altuve (1.014)
Tyler O'Neill (1.158)
Josh Naylor (0.992)
Salvador Perez (0.987)All Leaders: https://t.co/kNAGpFzAme

Add it up and he will certainly be driving in more runs than he has to this point in the young season.
Fernando Tatis Jr. Over 1.5 total bases (+105, DraftKings sportsbook)
I hate to keep picking on Walker but Tatis' total bases prop is too good to pass up in this matchup.
It's not difficult to foresee some rust on Walker as he has missed significant time to begin the season. As for Tatis, the 25-year-old has hit six home runs with three doubles and a triple alongside a .781 OPS through 30 games on the season.
Walker likely isn't going to get deep into this one but let's remind ourselves that the Phillies' bullpen has been the worst in baseball this season with a 5.71 ERA.
We're getting plus-money odds on a potent bat in a wildly favorable matchup. Might wanna double up on this one.
