Ryan Preece In Decent Position For Talladega
12 months agoHonestly, Ryan Preece starts from 11th for the race at Talladega. That is not a bad thing for the Stewart-Haas Racing driver. On this 2.66-mile track, it is a good thing to begin from outside the Top 10 typically. Preece has shown positive place differential at every track but one in 2024. The one time he started inside the Top 20 was Richmond and that was when his differential was a whopping -12. This causes some concern for Preece who has an average finish of 19.0 this season. On the other hand, Preece has drove very well in the Ford showing top ten stage results three times in the No. 41 Ford.

Ryan Preece Could Get First Three-Race Top-10 Streak Of His Career
6 days agoHeading into the Cook Out 400 race weekend, Ryan Preece is on a bit of a hot streak, as the Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing driver has back-to-back top-10 finishes, coming home third at Las Vegas and then ninth at Homestead last week. Now we're the Martinsville Speedway where Preece is a legitimate dark horse every time the NASCAR Cup Series visits the track. Preece posted finishes of ninth and 14th in the two races at Martinsville last season while driving for Stewart-Haas Racing, and Martinsville is the only track that he has led a significant number of laps at (135 in 11 career starts). This weekend, Preece looked pretty good in practice, posting the eighth-fastest time on Saturday afternoon. He qualified back in 21st for this weekend's race, and with his top-10 finishing upside, could be a very strong DFS pick, especially at his palatable price of just $7,500 on DraftKings. He's not a must-have on the slate, but he's a strong pick for sure.

Ryan Preece Scores His Second Consecutive Top-10 Finish Of 2025 At Homestead
2 weeks agoRFK Racing's Ryan Preece earned another strong result for the 2025 season as he placed ninth during Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Beginning the race from the 31st position, Preece quietly spent the entire race working his way through the pack. At the end of the first stage, the No. 60 Ford driver made it to the 20th position, failing to score stage points. Preece made it even closer to the front by the end of the second stage, as he placed 14th. Then, in the final stage, Preece kept his car out of trouble, executed on pit stops, and drove his way up to the ninth position, collecting his second consecutive top-10 result of the season. It was the third time in his Cup career that Preece scored back-to-back top-10 finishes, and he now cracked the top 16 in the points standings for the first time this season.

Ryan Preece Earns Best Career Non-Drafting Oval Finish At Las Vegas
3 weeks agoOne week after leading at Phoenix due to his alternative-tire strategy, Ryan Preece surprisingly delivered the best finish of his career on a non-drafting oval in Sunday's Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas, finishing third in a race where his two RFK Racing teammates Chris Buescher and Brad Keselowski did not run very well. Although Preece qualified 12th, he fell through the field during Stage 1 before he made a furious charge from 20th to 11th at the end of Stage 2. The team made a visionary move to stay out of the pits on the caution for the multi-car crash that took out Ryan Blaney, then managed to catch a caution before they needed to pit again. This propelled Preece to third on the final restart. Although he dropped to fifth after being passed by William Byron and Ross Chastain, when they made contact he regained third as the repercussions from the contact broke the momentum of all the drivers chasing him.

Is Ryan Preece A DFS Fade For Las Vegas Lineups?
3 weeks agoRFK Racing's Ryan Preece obtained a starting position of 12th for this week's race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Pennzoil 400. Preece's starting position will be the highest ever of his Cup career at Las Vegas. In 10 Cup starts in his career at Vegas, Preece has two top-20 finishes. The No. 60 Ford driver also nabbed positive Place Differential in all four of his appearances in the Next-Gen car since 2022. Through four races this year, Preece has two top-20 finishes, with his 15th-place finish in last week's race at Phoenix being his best of the season yet. In practice, Preece ranked 28th in overall lap averages while displaying top-20 speeds in the 20 and 25 consecutive lap average categories. Compared to most in his salary range ($6,200 on DraftKings), Preece offers little upside based on his starting position. Preece can only be worth recommending for tournament games, but his practice speeds suggest that he may not be worth the gamble. Fantasy players are recommended to fade Preece this week.
