Matt Shaw Off To Impressive Start
7 months agoChicago Cubs shortstop prospect Matt Shaw is a name for dynasty managers to take note of, as he has been on fire to open the season for Double-A Tennessee. The Cubs first-round pick of 2023 had a great Spring Training with the club and that has carried over to Tennessee. Over his first nine games, Shaw is hitting an astounding .370 with a triple, three home runs, seven RBI and four stolen bases. The 22-year-old has dominated since being drafted this past season and is rising quickly in the Cubs system. The Cubs do have Nico Hoerner and Dansby Swanson up the middle, but when you're hitting the ball as well as Shaw has, a position will be found. In his case, likely third base with Christopher Morel struggling defensively. Shaw's offensive abilities offer much to be excited for and managers in dynasty leagues should take notice and roster the young budding star. Managers in redraft leagues should also consider adding Shaw to the watch-list as he offers exciting potential if he receives a promotion to the show at some point in 2024.
