Ty Dillon Trying To Manufacture Speed With Kaulig
12 months agoTy Dillon tries to keep pushing the Kaulig Racing car but to no avail. Dillon was 0.639 seconds off in practice and 0.653 seconds in qualifying on Saturday. He will start the Texas race back in 36th. The No. 16 Chevy is a bit slower than the Spire Motorsports car he had raced in last season. Dillon is a decent candidate for place differential given his 36th-place start on Sunday afternoon. However, this hinges on if he can keep the car running and there are more caution flags than usual. With intermediate track speed an issue, Dillon cannot run 29 second or better laps like the faster cars. Speed is a significant issue.

Ty Dillon Provides Valuable DFS Cap Relief At Homestead
2 weeks agoDon't be afraid to roster Ty Dillon on DraftKings this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. There are several high-priced drivers on the slate this weekend that are very good at Homestead, so you're going to need to find salary cap relief somewhere. Ty Dillon is an excellent option. Although he's not going to blaze through the field and challenge for a top-10 finish on Sunday, Ty should be able to keep his fenders clean and challenge for a mid-20s result. At just $5,200 on DraftKings, that would be an incredible value considering he qualified back in 34th for this weekend's Straight Talk Wireless 400. Ty has finished between 22nd and 28th in each of his last six races at this track. Sometimes in DFS, all you need is a reliable and cheap option to fill out a lineup. That is Ty Dillon this weekend at Homestead-Miami.

Ty Dillon A High-Risk, Low-Priced DFS Option At Las Vegas
3 weeks agoOne of the surprises during qualifying for this weekend's Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was Ty Dillon, who will roll off the starting grid from 17th place when the fifth Cup Series race of the season goes green on Sunday. It was especially surprising because Dillon's No. 10 Chevrolet was one of the slowest cars in practice, ranking 35th-fastest out of 36 cars and over a second off the pace of the fastest driver, Ross Chastain. Now DFS managers have to ask themselves, is Ty Dillon worth the risk on Sunday due to his good track position to start the race? At just $5,100 on DraftKings, he may seem like a compelling dirt-cheap option, but considering he's never finished better than 20th in the Next Gen car at Las Vegas makes it hard to think that Dillon won't have a negative place differential on Sunday. You should use Dillon sparingly in your DFS lineups, if at all this weekend.

Ty Dillon Could Have Respectable Showing At Phoenix
4 weeks agoAfter a couple of rough races at Atlanta and COTA, Ty Dillon probably isn't mad that Phoenix Raceway is the next stop on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule. That's because he doesn't have that bad of a record at this race track. Statistically, Phoenix ranks in the top third of tracks for Ty. He has an average finish of 20.6 in the desert over the course of 14 total starts, including a streak of six straight finishes between 15th and 21st from 2018 to 2022. This weekend, Dillon struggled quite a bit in practice, ranking 36th-fastest out of 37 cars, but he qualified up in 25th-place, which is a trend in the right direction. Although you can't really trust a low-tier driver like Ty Dillon, it may be worth taking a flier on him in tournament lineups, as he is priced at just $5,000 on DraftKings this weekend.

Could Ty Dillon Be A Deep Sleeper At COTA?
1 month agoIf you're looking for a cheap option on DraftKings this weekend at Circuit of the Americas, don't overlook Ty Dillon. The Kaulig Racing driver starts way back in 34th for Sunday's afternoon's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, and he has 21st- and 20th-place finishes to his credit at this track (back in 2021 and 2022, respectively). Dillon isn't a top-tier option at road courses, by any means, but he's a capable driver in decent equipment. Back in 2023, he finished 23rd at Sonoma, and also ran 16th at Watkins Glen in 2022. Ty posted the 19th-fastest lap during the second practice session on Saturday afternoon. If you need to save some cap space with your DraftKings lineup this weekend, Ty Dillon ($5,100) just may be your guy.
