Welcome to Week 3 of the inaugural UFL season, RotoBallers! The standings are starting to shake out as we enter Week 3. Birmingham and San Antonio are undefeated, Houston and Arlington are winless, and everyone else is 1-1. We now have two weeks of data to analyze, which should help us make more informed decisions about the right players to get into our DFS lineups. The Masters has everyone's attention, so let's see if we can capitalize and make some money on the UFL slate.
Below are my thoughts on DraftKings' Week 2 DFS slate of UFL contests, which goes live on 4/6 at noon ET. I'd encourage you to read all our other weekly UFL fantasy football articles and stay on top of injury news, and roster moves to remain well-informed and ahead of the competition. Let's get to it. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings Quarterbacks - Week 2 UFL DFS Picks
Jordan Ta'amu - DC Defenders vs. Arlington Renegades - $9,700
Jordan Ta'amu and the Defenders draw the Arlington Renegades this week, which I am interested in. Ta'amu threw 32 times in Week 2, and while he only completed 16 of them for 212 yards, he added two touchdowns and finished with 19.2 DK points. The Renegades have been awful on defense, allowing a league-leading 54 points while ranking last in every defensive grade via Pro Football Focus. Ta'amu isn't cheap, but you can get him at a decent price, as he's the fourth-most expensive QB on the slate.
E.J. Perry - Michigan Panthers vs. Houston Roughnecks - $9,300
We're sticking with E.J. Perry here, even though he let us down with just 14.6 DK points against Birmingham last week. The Stallions boast the top defense in the league at the moment, so that result wasn't all too surprising as he couldn't get much going through the air or with his legs. I'm still willing to chase the 20.7 DK point effort in Week 1, where he rushed for two goal-line scores against the Battlehawks. This week's matchup is much softer as the Roughnecks rank sixth in defense, sixth in pass rush, and seventh in coverage. If he can find some throwing lanes, that will open up his ability to scramble and potentially rush for a touchdown or two.
DraftKings Running Backs - Week 2 UFL DFS Picks
Darius Hagans - DC Defenders vs. Arlington Renegades - $5,300
The first thing I'm doing when checking the UFL schedule and analyzing the slate is to check which team gets the advantage of playing against the Renegades. This week, it's the DC Defenders. Mataeo Durant - the backup running back for the Battlehawks - went ballistic against them as he put up 21.9 DK points on 104 rushing yards and a touchdown. Darius Hagans saw more work than starter Cam'Ron Harris last week, and while he wasn't able to do much on the ground, he salvaged his day with a score and finished with 12 DK points. He's among the cheaper running backs on the slate, and even getting a part-time workload should result in a valuable fantasy score against the worst defense in the league.
De'Veon Smith - Arlington Renegades vs. DC Defenders - $6,900
The Defenders-Renegades matchup has only a one-point spread, with the highest implied total on the slate at 43 points. It also features the two worst run defenses in the league, so we can feel comfortable getting to both backfields in DFS contests. De'Veon Smith and Leddie Brown split the backfield for the Renegades, and while neither has popped off the page, Smith has the lone touchdown of the duo. I love the potential for upside at low ownership here - most people aren't going to want to play running backs in this game.
DraftKings Wide Receivers and Tight Ends - Week 2 UFL DFS Picks
Chris Rowland - DC Defenders vs. Arlington Renegades - $3,700
Former NFL'er Keke Coutee won't be suiting up for this one, which opens up some appealing options on the cheap end to stack with Ta'amu. We're going ultra-cheap with this pick, selecting the fifth WR in the offense in Chris Rowland. Rowland didn't do anything with three targets in Week 1, but he made some things happen by catching 2-of-4 targets for 55 yards in Week 2. Coutee being out will open up targets across the offense, and this is a matchup I'm looking to target with the Renegades ranking so poorly on defense.
Jontre Kirklin - St. Louis Battlehawks vs. San Antonio Brahmas - $9,800
Jontre Kirklin is extremely expensive, but he's still someone I'm prioritizing in lineups. The former LSU Tiger has earned his price tag, averaging 18.7 DK points per game, which is more than all but two QBs in the player pool. He has seen nine targets in each game, turning them into 15 catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns. A.J. McCarron likes throwing to him, and this should be a competitive, high(ish)-scoring matchup. Getting to cheap QBs and Rowland should allow you to fit Kirklin into lineups, and that's the route I'm taking this week.
Trey Quinn - Michigan Panthers vs. Houston Roughnecks - $6,600
We'll pair Perry with Trey Quinn, who has emerged as a favorite target in the Michigan offense. He hasn't entirely exploded for a big game, but he caught 5-of-8 targets last week and should have a much easier matchup against Houston in Week 3. The Roughnecks have the second-worst coverage grade in the UFL, and they just allowed 212 receiving yards and two touchdowns to the Defenders last week.
