Adley Rutschman Not In Friday’s Lineup
12 months agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman will be getting the night off on Friday evening as the O's play host to the Milwaukee Brewers for a three-game set. The All-Star catcher is off to a strong start to the 2024 campaign as he has tallied 13 hits in 12 games and has an overall .271/.333/.313 stat line. Rutschman has yet to hit a home run this season, but that should change fairly quickly, as he launched 20 last season. Rutschman, who has batted in the two-hole all season, will cede that spot to Colton Cowser this evening. James McCann will serve as the backstop and will make his fifth start of the season in a difficult matchup against Freddy Peralta.

Adley Rutschman Blasts Two Home Runs In Three-Hit Day
1 week agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman slugged two home runs in Thursday's 12-2 drubbing of Jose Berrios and the Toronto Blue Jays. The 27-year-old went 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored in the contest, picking up where he left off Grapefruit League play, where he slashed .357/.438/.595 with three home runs in 16 games. The former first-overall draft pick started strong last season, earning his second All-Star nomination, however, he struggled mightily in the second half. Hopefully this performance sets the switch-hitter up for sustained success throughout the entire 2025 season, and he lives up to the 60th-overall fantasy draft price.

Adley Rutschman Taking A Seat
6 months agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees. The O's will give their star catcher a breather after he's started in each of the last five games. The postseason is quickly approaching and the Orioles want to keep Rutschman fresh. That being said, James McCann will start behind the plate and bat ninth against right-hander Marcus Stroman. McCann is hitting .227 with seven homers this season, so fantasy managers can probably find a better streaming option ahead of Wednesday's slate.

Adley Rutschman To DH On Tuesday
7 months agoThe Baltimore Orioles will have Adley Rutschman as their designed hitter for Tuesday's game at the Boston Red Sox, giving the All-Star catcher a night off behind the plate while James McCann gets the start. Rutschman is hitting .255/.323/.400 with 18 homers, 72 RBI, 62 runs scored, and a stolen base in 132 games. He has struggled over the past month, hitting .195/.269/.256 with a homer, four RBI and four runs scored. Rutschman and the Orioles will face Red Sox hurler Kutter Crawford, against whom Rutschman is 3-for-10 with two homers and three RBI. This is a matchup that daily fantasy players should exploit.

Adley Rutschman Back In Lineup On Sunday
8 months agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman (back) is back behind the plate and is batting fifth on Sunday at Camden Yards against the division-rival Boston Red Sox and right-hander Kutter Crawford. Rutschman was scratched from Friday's series opener on Friday and also sat out of Saturday's contest, but he's feeling good enough to give it a go in the series finale. The 26-year-old switch-hitting All-Star catcher needs to be returned to starting lineups in all fantasy formats. He's one of the best hitting players at the weak catcher position and has gone 12-for-42 (.286) with three doubles, a triple and eight RBI in 13 games played in the month of August. And in eight career at-bats against Crawford, Rutschman is hitting .250 with an .875 OPS, one home run and two RBI.
