8 months agoMilwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (shoulder), who is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the team's No. 3 prospect, will have season-ending shoulder surgery for a torn labrum in his right shoulder. The recovery time is expected to be nine months. The 21-year-old backstop will miss the entire 2024 season after injuring his throwing shoulder during the first game of the year with Triple-A Nashville. Barring setbacks in the offseason, Quero should be ready for the start of spring training in 2025. Quero is already one of the best defensive catching prospects in the game and also hit .262/.339/.441 with a career-high 16 home runs, 49 RBI and five stolen bases in 90 games with Double-A Biloxi in 2023.
