Best Ball Values, Sleepers for Fresh Week 2 Drafts on RIVAL Fantasy (4/7-4/18)

Michael Conforto - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups - icon rotoballer

Shaun Evans' MLB Best Ball picks for RIVAL Fantasy MLB Best Ball contests for the week 2. See who he is liking to target in drafts and why.

Happy Monday RotoBallers, and welcome to our new series covering RIVAL Fantasy Best Ball weekly action for the MLB season! We will be covering some of our favorite value players and sleepers that can help you win your league

MLB best ball is similar to your everyday normal fantasy baseball leagues except you draft your team and don't have to worry about setting lineups. There is no need to stress over free-agent pickups or trying to make a trade with one of your league mates. You just draft your team, kick back, and enjoy the season.

RIVAL Fantasy does take a 10% rake but each draft type is snake and your timer is 45 seconds. There's no reason to have to wait 7 hours and 22 minutes for Billy to finally take his first pitcher. Quick and easy draft to get through, which ultimately means more drafts to do. Check here for the updated rules and scoring.

RIVAL Fantasy MLB Best Ball Value Players

Michael Conforto, LF - San Francisco Giants

Michael Conforto has had a decent start for the San Francisco Giants who have had a shaky start. In 34 plate appearances, Conforto holds a batting average of .348 with eight runs, 10 RBI, and three homers. Using the Rotoballer tools, Michael Conforto has a hitter rating of 107 or higher in the first three games versus Washington to kick the week. It will decrease at the end of the week when the Giants travel to Tampa Bay to face the Rays.

Spencer Steer, LF - Cincinnati Reds

Spencer Steer may fly under the radar as the Cincinnati Reds are barely above .500 with five wins and four losses. Steer has a batting average of .406 through nine games with 32 plate appearances. He has recorded 12 RBI with eight runs and three homers. Like Michael Conforto, Steer also starts the week off with matchups that favor him. He'll see Milwaukee the majority of the week and he should bring productivity.

Josh Bell, 1B - Miami Marlins

Josh Bell has had a slow start to the season but once again, another hitter with great matchups this week. Bell will see the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves. He'll see Nestor Cortes and Carlos Rodon, both with matchup ratings of 110 or higher. The one downside is that he'll see Marcus Stroman on Wednesday and he has struggled against him. He has gone 2-for-16 with one RBI in 19 plate appearances. Josh Bell does have a downside but with a few solid matchups in Week 2, he could be a solid under-owned option.

RIVAL Fantasy MLB Best Ball Sleepers

Zach Neto, SS - Los Angeles Angels

Time to continue riding the Zach Neto train. After a rough start in Week 1, Neto still faces some tough challenges. In 32 plate appearances, he recorded a .219 batting average with nine strikeouts, four RBIs, and one run. The young shortstop had a solid Cactus League run where he went 7-for-21, with two homers, one double, one triple, and seven RBI.  He'll see a couple of pitchers that he saw last season and seeing familiar faces could be all that he needs.

Spencer Turnbull, SP - Philadelphia Phillies

Spencer Turnball isn't being targeted in many drafts or leagues currently. He may be a mid to late draft add that can be targeted. In Turnball's first start of the season against the Cincinnati Reds he recorded seven strikeouts with three hits and one run allowed in five innings. He should give two quality starts in Week 2. First up will be against the St. Louis Cardinals to kick the week off and then he should see Pittsburgh again on Saturday, 4/13.

Travis d'Arnaud, C - Atlanta Braves

Travis d'Arnaud is another player who has had a rough start to the season. This week's matchup favors the catcher and should be targeted. As pointed out in Dan Palyo's article, Atlanta will have a total of seven games this week between the New York Mets and Miami Marlins. The first four days for d'Arnaud have three matchups favoring the hitter. If he can get back on track, he makes for a solid draft option across the Best Ball contests. The risk with Travis d'Arnad is the starts as he only started four games in Week 1. He recorded 19 plate appearances and averaged a .211 batting average with three strikeouts, three runs, and three RBI.
