8 months agoRoss Chastain captured a starting position of 12th for this week's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. 12th is Chastain's second-highest Martinsville starting position in his Cup career and will mark the fourth time this season that he will start from the Top 15. In 10 Martinsville Cup races, Chastain has four top-15 finishes, all of which he scored in his last four races there. Through seven races so far this season, Chastain is one of the models of consistency with six top-15 finishes, including four inside the Top 10. In practice, Chastain's speeds were among the middle of the pack in his group, while his overall lap average ranked 32nd of all drivers.
