8 months agoLos Angeles Angels starter Reid Detmers mowed down the Red Sox in Saturday's 2-1 victory in Anaheim. The lefty went six innings, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out 12 batters on his way to earning the win. Detmers looked good in his first start too, and is now 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA and 19 punchouts in 11 IP. After having a good 2022 in which the lefty threw a no-hitter, his 2023 was underwhelming with a 4.48 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, but it's looking like a bounce-back year so far for the 24-year-old. He won't maintain a sub-2.00 ERA all season, but is worthy of a roster spot at a position that is seemingly growing thinner by the day due to injuries.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
