Wyndham Clark Working Toward Star Status
1 year agoIf it wasn't for Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark could have three wins already this season. Clark has finished second to Scheffler in his past two events and was robbed of a chance at a playoff when his final putt lipped out at The Players. Clark's best weeks this season have come when his putter cooperates. In three trips to Memorial Park, Clark has had putting success, so another high finish seems likely in Houston.

Wyndham Clark Hitting His Stride Heading To The PLAYERS Championship
3 weeks agoWyndham Clark finished T22 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week, securing three top-25 finishes this season. He is now focusing on preparing for The PLAYERS Championship, which will be held at TPC Sawgrass this week. Clark has a strong history at this tournament, finishing tied for second in 2024, T27 in 2023, and missing the cut in 2022. Over the past 12 months, he ranks in the 67th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is particularly significant because, at last year's The PLAYERS Championship, over 32% of approach shots came from this distance. Clark could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.

Wyndham Clark A Risky Play At Arnold Palmer Invitational
4 weeks agoWyndham Clark has spent most of his time on the TGL and has not played a PGA event since the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines last month, where he finished T31. He now looks ahead to the Arnold Palmer Invitational, an event he has played four times, including a runner-up finish in 2024. To succeed at Bay Hill, players will need to be sharp off the tee and excel with long irons, especially given the forecasted 20-plus-mph winds this weekend. Clark ranks 32nd in driving distance but just 158th in driving accuracy. He has also lost 0.251 strokes on approach and ranks in the 24th percentile for approach shots from 200-plus yards, a range that accounts for 31.7% of all approach shots at this course, including three of the four par-threes. While the upside from Clark is undeniable, his recent form suggests it may be best to avoid him in DFS lineups this week.

Wyndham Clark Searching For Consistency At Torrey Pines
2 months agoWyndham Clark has been inconsistent so far in 2025 with results of T16, T73, a missed cut, and T15 in his first four events. He now turns his attention to Torrey Pines, where he has competed six times in his career, making the cut in four of those but never finishing higher than T32. Off-the-tee play will be crucial this week, and this is an area of Clark's game that has always been reliable, as he currently ranks 24th on tour in driving distance and 19th in total driving. The concern with Clark's game mainly revolves around his approach play, where he has lost 2.936 strokes to the field this year (125th). He is also ranked 63rd in bogey avoidance, 107th in scrambling, and is in the 73rd percentile over the last 12 months in proximity from 150-200 yards, a range that accounts for 39.6% of all approach shots at Torrey Pines. There is no denying Clark's upside, but fantasy managers will need to carefully weigh their options before playing him at his $7,300 price tag on DraftKings.

Wyndham Clark Is Someone To Stay Away From This Week
2 months agoAfter a solid showing at the Sentry to start the 2025 season, Wyndham Clark has struggled to find the same form in both of his starts since, missing the cut at the AmEx and finishing T73 at Pebble Beach. Nothing is clicking right now, as he has only gained strokes in one metric in each of the last two events. To make matters worse, he doesn't have the best record at TPC Scottsdale, which statistics say has been due to poor driving performances (averaging -0.563 strokes gained off the tee in six career starts). Even at $9,700 on FanDuel, it's unlikely that Clark will do enough to justify adding him to most lineups without a big turnaround in his game.
