Brandon Aiyuk had a career year last season, finishing seventh in the league in receiving yards (1342), second in yards per catch (17.9), and catching seven touchdowns. For his efforts, he was named to the Second-team All-Pro.
However, despite many expecting them to do so, the 49ers failed to win Super Bowl LVIII and now they have some tough decisions to make. Aiyuk is eligible for an extension, but San Francisco doesn't have a ton of cap room and Aiyuk has made it clear that he will force his way out if the 49ers won't meet his demands.
Will the 49ers trade Aiyuk? Which teams are the best fit for him? Let's find out.

Will The 49ers Trade Brandon Aiyuk?
In the eyes of the team, Brock Purdy has the best contract in the league right now, but he will be eligible for an extension after the 2024 season. The 49ers will need to pay him anywhere from $40 to $50 million a season, which will complicate their cap situation even more.

So naturally, the Niners have been more conservative regarding Aiyuk's upcoming extension, with John Lynch saying that he could play on the fifth-year option. Lynch has also said that Aiyuk is not available for trade, but there's always the chance that the star wideout could sit out if they don't reach an agreement for an extension, seeing how vocal he has been on social media.
Which Teams Could Trade For Brandon Aiyuk?
If San Francisco decides to trade Aiyuk, two teams stand out as potential trade candidates. The first is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have changed from their traditional strategy and have made big moves this offseason. Russell Wilson/Justin Fields throwing to George Pickens and Aiyuk, the two WRs with the most yards per catch in the league last season, is certainly an exciting thing to imagine.

Another team that could be a potential landing spot for Aiyuk is the Houston Texans. The Texans shocked the world last season, but with the Titans making big moves and the Jaguars and Colts still being around, they need to make some big moves of their own if they want to repeat as AFC South champions.
C.J. Stroud throwing to Nico Collins and Aiyuk would be a nightmare for AFC South defenses, and this move could propel the Texans to true contention.
