Regarding tight ends of the 2024 NFL Draft, all eyes will be on one man and one man only. Georgia's Brock Bowers is by far and away the best TE prospect this year and is the only player in his position who is projected to go in the first round.
But that doesn't mean you should sleep on the other prospects. This class has some serious studs like Cade Stover, Theo Johnson, and Ben Sinnott, who have been underrated by the media. But who is the second-best tight end behind Bowers?
With that being said, let's look at Ja'Tavion Sanders, the TE2 of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Why is Ja'Tavion Sanders the TE2 in the 2024 NFL Draft Class?
After Bowers, Sanders is easily the best receiving tight end in this draft class. Over his last two seasons at Texas, Sanders caught 99 passes for 1,295 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 13.1 yards per catch.

Sanders is an expert deep-route runner who can easily open up the passing game for stagnant NFL offenses, but he has also shown the ability to catch passes in traffic. His team's QBs have a passer rating of 104.3 when targeting him, which shows how reliable he is.
Obviously, there's a reason why he's projected to be a second-round pick, and that's because of his weak blocking ability. Sanders is pretty much the same weight as Bowers (245 lbs vs. 242 lbs) despite being one inch taller than him, and he needs to add more muscle to his frame to become a better blocker.
Seeing as Sanders just turned 21, there's no reason why he can't do that. If he becomes a better blocker, he'll get more snaps on the field, which can only mean one thing: more stats and more fantasy points.
