Fernando Padilla Gets Back On Track With Submission Win
1 year agoFernando Padilla returned to the win column at UFC Vegas 89 with a first-round submission victory over Luis Pajuelo. Padilla was coming off a unanimous decision loss to Kyle Nelson in September 2023. In this fight, however, Padilla was controlling the distance, tagging Pajuelo repeatedly with knees, kicks, and punches. Padilla landed a nasty combination that floored Pajuelo. As Pajuelo tried to bounce back to his feet, Padilla wrapped up the neck in a d'arce choke and finished the fight. In 2:45 of action, Padilla landed 34 significant strikes compared to Pajuelo who only landed five.

Fernando Padilla Drops A Decision At Noche UFC
2 years agoFernando Padilla is now 1-1 in the UFC as he lost a decision to Kyle Nelson at Noche UFC on Saturday night. Padilla was the favorite, but after winning the first round, the Mexican was outstruck in the final two rounds to lose the decision. It was a back-and-forth fight, but Padilla's accuracy struggled in the final 10 minutes as Nelson was able to do enough to get the win. With the loss, Padilla is now 1-1 in the UFC and is 15-5 overall.

Fernando Padilla Gets To Fight On Mexican Independence Day
2 years agoFernando Padilla (15-4) made his UFC debut back in April when he scored a first-round TKO over Julian Erosa. The Mexican now gets to return at Noche UFC, which is the promotion's Mexican Independence Day card against Kyle Nelson. Padilla will have a five-inch reach advantage and is riding a three-fight winning streak. Heading into Noche UFC, Padilla is the favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $8,900, and in his lone UFC fight, he got 108.06 fantasy points per fight. In his career, Padilla has won 13 of his 15 fights by stoppage with 10 coming in the first round.

Fernando Padilla Shines With First-Round TKO Win
2 years agoAfter two years tied up on the sidelines due to visa issues, Mexican featherweight Fernando Padilla finally got to make his promotional debut at UFC Vegas 72 on Saturday and was paired up with Julian Erosa. Padilla looked on point from the opening bell, landing a slick combination that dropped Erosa. Erosa popped back up to his feet and tried to re-engage but was dropped again by the young Mexican, who was making his UFC debut, and the fight was waved off. The stoppage was controversial in the eyes of some, including Erosa, who contested referee Chris Tognoni's decision to step in. In 1:41 of action, Padilla landed 20 significant strikes. The accuracy of Padilla's strikes is something to look forward to seeing from him sometime soon when he returns.
