Matt Chapman Crushes Second Homer Of The Spring
9 months agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman went 2-for-4 with a homer in Friday's spring training game against the Chicago Cubs. Chapman's homer brought the Giants within one run in a wild game that ended in a 13-12 Giants victory. He has performed well in spring training for his new team, hitting for a .280 batting average and a .960 OPS in 25 AB. In 2024, ATC projections project Chapman to hit for a .235/.327/.437 slash line with 24 HR and 70 RBI. The home runs and RBI marks would be an improvement from his 2023 season in Toronto. With an ADP of 262.3, Chapman will likely only be a starting corner infielder for deeper leagues for managers willing to gamble on him in the unfriendly offensive environment at Oracle Park.
