Former Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy will enter the 2024 NFL Draft with some uncertainties. He wasn't relied upon a ton at Michigan, so his stats don't stick out. He threw for just 2,719 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2022 and 2,991 yards and 22 touchdowns last season.
However, he did his job, limited turnovers, and led Michigan to a 28-1 overall record over the past two seasons. McCarthy also has all the tools to be a successful NFL quarterback.
So, where will McCarthy be selected in the 2024 NFL Draft? Which teams could draft the former Michigan quarterback? Let's dive in and find out.

When Will J.J. McCarthy Be Selected?
Before the 2023 college season began, there were mixed opinions on McCarthy. Some thought he would be a second-round pick, while others thought he would fall later than that. After a strong senior campaign, though, it's safe to say that the Michigan quarterback will be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
There's no doubt that McCarthy will hear his name called on Day 1. There's also a strong chance he hears his name called early in the night too.

McCarthy will enter the draft as one of the top four quarterbacks in the draft class. Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels will all likely get selected ahead of him in April. Nonetheless, he has risen up draft boards in recent months and should find himself selected in the top 12.
Which Teams Could Take J.J. McCarthy?
There are plenty of teams that could take a shot at McCarthy early in the first round. The Bears, Commanders, Patriots, Giants, Jets, Vikings, and Broncos could all be in on taking the Michigan quarterback in the top 12.
But of those teams, the Bears, Commanders, Patriots, and Jets might have the lowest odds to select him. The Bears will take Williams, while the Commanders and Patriots will likely take Daniels and Maye. The Jets are also a long shot to take him at 10th overall -- even though they have a 40-year-old quarterback in Aaron Rodgers.
That leaves us with the Giants (6th), Vikings (11th), and Broncos (12th). Despite the Giants paying Daniel Jones last offseason, don't be surprised if the team decides to take McCarthy early in this draft. If not, then he will likely wind up with the Vikings or Broncos. Both teams might have to trade up in the first round, though.
