Kaz Grala Will Start 32nd In Sunday’s Shriners Children’s 500 At Phoenix
1 year agoAfter struggling to find speed during qualifying, Kaz Grala will start 32nd in Sunday's Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Heading into this weekend's race, there is little to get excited about when it comes to Grala. With this being his first Cup start at Phoenix, his past performances in the Xfinity Series at this track must be taken into consideration. While he did finish 10th in the Xfinity race here last November, his previous three starts resulted in finishes of 33, 23, and 34. Between his underwhelming start to the season and the limited success he has had at this track, it is best to fade the No. 15 in DFS this weekend.

Kaz Grala Bringing Up The Rear Sunday
9 months agoKaz Grala will attempt to stay on the lead lap on Sunday as he will start 40th for the Grant Park 165 in Chicago. The Rick Ware Racing car was almost 1.7 seconds off the top lap time of Kyle Larson. Grala tried to get nine laps in but was constantly around 2 to 2.5 seconds off the top times. His nine laps showed Grala losing time coming in and out of the big turns including the 5-6 combination. Grala's hope may lie in attrition on Sunday afternoon as the race will be 75 laps in all.

Kaz Grala Near The Rear Again At New Hampshire
9 months agoKaz Grala and his Rick Ware Racing car did not get much work in on Saturday like everyone else. Grala ran a few laps and then the raindrops came. The No. 15 Ford was 31st even in the abbreviated practice session. Again, not much can be taken from practice. However, Grala's car was slow at Iowa, had problems, and finished five laps down in 33rd. With a 30th on a somewhat similar track at Phoenix, Grala may be tailing the field once more in his Ford. He ended up three laps down there in only 312 laps. Grala starts 35th at New Hampshire on Sunday but is not an optimal choice for DFS or betting.

Kaz Grala Qualified 28th For Sunday's Race At Iowa
10 months agoKaz Grala was assumed to be in the back at Iowa. However, the Rick Ware Racing driver will start 28th for the Iowa Corn 350. The Iowa track has not been raced on in five years by anyone from NASCAR and that was at the Xfinity level. Anyway, Grala did move up six spots at Dover. Dover and even Phoenix have some similarities to the Iowa track (0.875 miles). The repaved sections make guessing place differential more dicey for the Ford car and Grala, however. He may slide back on Sunday later in the race as track conditions cool.

Kaz Grala Firmly In The Back At Sonoma
10 months agoKaz Grala will start 36th from Sonoma Raceway on Sunday. The Rick Ware Racing car is starting around 31st on average in 2024. Grala and his Ford were 1.61 seconds off the pole and has been right in the back on most course. An average finish of 27.0 is not a surprise given the slowness of the No. 15 Ford. Most races have seen Grala stay in the back and not factor much at all. The concern is that his car is too slow and holds other drivers up as far as lap traffic. Expect more of the same on Sunday as Grala could easily finish a lap or two down.
