Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Says “He’s Fine” After HBP
9 months agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (hand) says he feels fine after leaving Friday’s spring training game versus the Chicago Cubs. He was hit in the hand by a fastball from Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks and was removed from the game shortly after. He went 1-for-1 with a double before exiting Friday’s contest. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo described it as a hand contusion and said no X-rays were needed. The 30-year-old is considered day-to-day and could be ready to play as soon as Saturday. He is hitting .389 with a home run and four RBI over seven games this spring. Gurriel is a solid pick at his current NFBC ADP of 224 and will look to build on his 2023 campaign, where he hit 24 homers and logged 82 RBI over 554 at-bats in 2023.
