Welcome to our Sleeper NBA DFS prop picks for Friday, March 8. The Pistons won again if you can believe it, but the real story from last night was Anthony Edwards. After missing a free throw that would have put the Timberwolves up three with seven seconds left, Edwards made up for it with one of the most athletic blocks the league has ever witnessed. Edwards, making his best Shannon Brown impression, hit his head on the rim in a successful attempt to block Aaron Nesmith’s game-tying layup.
It’s gone viral. It’s still going viral, and it will stay viral. Don’t be surprised if this is a clip we see for decades to come since we rarely see athleticism of this caliber. It was a poetic finish to a great game and if there’s anything to learn from it, it’s that Minnesota basketball still has hope as long as Edwards and Rudy Gobert are playing.

NBA DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Friday, March 8
Santi Aldama OVER 2.5 Assists
Santi Aldama has cleared this over in his last three games, with his most recent outing being a seven-assist game versus the 76ers. Three assists are an easy cover for anyone willing to pass, but there’s also a glaring streak in Aldama’s game log that is extremely concerning. Luckily for us, assists require conversion, and Aldama puts himself and his teammates in a position to do so.
We know they can struggle to actually hit shots, and not only is Aldama on a small hot-streak himself, but Memphis has won back-to-back games and faces a very susceptible defense. With certain players like Ziaire Williams, Luke Kennard, and GG Jackson designated with injury tags, there’s a reason why Aldama is playing well over 30+ minutes each night with a usage that stays consistently above 15%.
Paolo Banchero OVER 34.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
The Knicks defense, at one point this season, was ideal to bet unders against. When Julius Randle went down with an injury and trades started happening, adjustments were made, and their defensive prowess was the first to fall off. In turn, New York started losing games. With defense being the first domino to fall, it’s only fair to go with the player who has exacerbated those problems every time they face them.
The one-time New York has held Banchero under this line, OG Anunoby was healthy, and Quentin Grimes was still a Knick. Every other time, Banchero has dominated the stat sheet, and it’s not like the Knicks defense is bringing something different to the table this time around. Banchero’s size can’t be contained, and the efficiency of his jump shooting has revolutionized his game, making him near-impossible to stop. Even in a blowout, Banchero should still have an overly productive game.
Kyle Anderson UNDER 9.5 Points
Not a huge fan of under bets, but the Prop-timizer can’t seem to unsee this one, and I can’t seem to avoid it either. The Timberwolves aren’t in shambles now that Karl-Anthony Towns is out for the season, but they have serious roster adjustments to make. Naz Reid will benefit directly, but Anderson being the one thrust into the starting lineup doesn’t mean he’s shooting more, and it especially doesn’t mean he’s scoring more.
Naturally, they are going to give Anderson plenty of touches, and he will get some shots up now that he’s seeing more minutes, but here’s the catch. Off the bench, Anderson was vital to the bench scoring because he was one of the more reliable options. Now that he’s starting, he’s one of the last mouths to feed, and truthfully, if anyone else is hitting, his shot attempts will float directly to that player. Anderson being good enough to start but not good enough to warrant any real usage is exactly what we are attacking here.
