Devils Not Shopping Tyler Toffoli
1 year agoThe New Jersey Devils are not currently shopping winger Tyler Toffoli ahead of Friday's trade deadline. While it doesn't mean that a deal involving Toffoli will not happen for sure, the team prefers not to trade him and is rather focused on adding goaltending help. The veteran has tallied 26 goals and 44 points in his first season with the Devils in 2023-24, adding 179 shots and 14 power-play points to his ledger. The 31-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent at season's end. While the Devils' offense sits in a tie for ninth-best in the NHL, they rank 31st with an .882 save percentage. As a result, they sit second-last in the Metropolitan Division with a 30-28-4 record.

Tyler Toffoli In Danger Of Missing Saturday's Game

He's dealing with an illness and is considered a game-time call. Toffoli has had a fine campaign in San Jose, leading the team with 12 goals and posting 20 points across 32 appearances. Fabian Zetterlund is the projected replacement for Toffoli on the first line if he can't play.
