1 year agoSeattle Kraken forward Jared McCann was the main offensive catalyst against Winnipeg on Tuesday, factoring in three goals in a 4-3 road win. He potted a short-handed goal in the second period and added two assists to his tally, including a power-play helper when Andre Burakovsky scored the game-winner with only 2:39 remaining in regulation. McCann has been huge for Seattle lately, going on a scoring tear of 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 12 games. 5 months agoSeattle Kraken left wing Jared McCann scored the game-winning goal in overtime to power the Kraken over the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday evening. The 28-year-old scored on a breakaway and beat Adin Hill on his backhand. McCann has now scored in each of his past two games and sits with season total of seven goals through 15 games. He also sits with 10 assists and 33 shots on goal. Over his past three seasons in Seattle, McCann has scored at least 25+ goals in each of them with a career-high of 40 in the 2022 campaign. 6 months agoSeattle Kraken forward Jared McCann (lower body) was a late scratch for Wednesday's preseason action against Edmonton. He left the warm-ups early, and the team announced that McCann had sustained a lower-body injury. The severity of the injury is unclear at present. Seattle will be desperate to have its top scorer available for the start of the season. McCann has led the team in goals and points during all of Kraken's three NHL campaigns. He had one goal and three assists in the contest, matching a franchise record for most points in a game. McCann also set a new Kraken record in the contest with his ninth power-play goal of the campaign -- it marks the most power-play markers a Kraken player has scored across a single season. With McCann in top form in front of the net, the Kraken tied the game three times but couldn't find the game-winner. McCann potted his first goal in a power-play situation. The 27-year-old has been producing some hot stuff over the last six weeks, going on a run of 10 goals and nine assists in 15 games.
