San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic (undisclosed) is a game-time decision for Thursday's home game against the visiting Anaheim Ducks. The veteran blue-liner was injured during a practice last Friday and has since missed the club's last two games versus the Predators and Devils. The 36-year-old is in the midst of his 18th NHL season, all spent with the Sharks after they took him in the second round of the 2005 NHL entry draft. The defense-first rear guard has notched five goals and seven points across 33 games on the season while blocking 61 shots in that time. His ice time is down to a career-low 16:07 per game, while he is a minus-11 on a Sharks team that sports a league-worst goal differential of minus-102. They have dropped four straight games entering Thursday's contest with the rival Ducks.--Brenton Kemp

San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic (back) will make his season debut on Thursday against Tampa Bay. He has received the all-clear to play after recovering from a back problem. Vlasic's addition will push Shakir Mukhamadullin out of the lineup. He will join Jan Rutta on the third defensive pairing. Vlasic has been a solid defenseman throughout his 18 years in the NHL, but his play has never really translated well into fantasy hockey. Last season, Vlasic finished with 12 points (six goals, six assists), 72 shots, and 108 blocks in 57 outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic (upper body) has been ruled out for Saturday's clash with the Predators. The veteran blue-liner is forced to exit the lineup after suffering an upper-body injury in Friday's practice. Vlasic recently impressed with a three-game goal streak, but he has notched only seven points (five goals, two assists) in 33 games and is mainly valued for his work in the defensive zone -- Vlasic averages nearly two blocks per game. Kyle Burroughs will be drafted into the lineup as his replacement on Saturday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic (lower body) will be sidelined for Tuesday's game against Carolina. He lasted less than four minutes against Colorado at the weekend and missed Monday's practice. Vlasic was able to make it back on the ice Tuesday morning, but he will still need some more time to recover. Henry Thrun will come back into the lineup in his absence against the Hurricanes. The 22-year-old was scratched for the matchup against the Avalanche despite opening the season with an assist last Thursday versus Vegas.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

San Jose defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss against Colorado. The 36-year-old logged only 3:15 of ice time in the contest, finishing with a plus-one rating. Vlasic needs to recover by Tuesday if he doesn't want to miss any games. Father Time hasn't been kind to Vlasic and he has next to no fantasy appeal, but the 2014 Olympic champion boasts bags of experience, which is highly valuable for one of the youngest rosters in the league. Henry Thrun is set to enter the lineup on Tuesday versus Carolina if Vlasic can't play.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
