Andres Gimenez Records First Spring Hit On Wednesday
Andres Gimenez picked up his first hit of the spring on Wednesday in an 8-6 Cactus League loss to the Diamondbacks. The hit was a single in the bottom of the sixth inning and he later came around to score. The 2022 All-Star is now 1-for-8 in the spring with one strikeout. The left-handed hitter had a bit of a disappointing season in 2023 after a sixth-place MVP finish in 2022 had raised expectations, but he was top-12 or better in runs scored, RBI, and stolen bases among second basemen last season. He'll contribute in all these categories again in 2024, and look for him to hit better than last season's .251 average and .309 WOBA. Right now RotoBaller has him ranked at 109 overall, slightly ahead of his NFBC ADP of 113.

Andres Gimenez Steals Two Bases In Monday's Win
Andres Gimenez went 0-for-2 with two walks, two runs, one RBI, and two steals in a 6-2 win over the Boston Red Sox on Monday. Gimenez has been productive in the early portions of the season, hitting .231 with three homers, 10 runs, eight steals, and three stolen bases in 39 at-bats. The veteran infielder has cooled in the power department after swatting three homers in his first five games this season but Gimenez's speed on the basepaths keeps him relevant in fantasy moving forward.

Andres Gimenez Homers, Steals A Base On Monday
Andres Gimenez went 2-for-2 with a double, a homer, a walk, three runs, one RBI, and a steal in a 5-2 win over the Washington Nationals on Monday. Gimenez is off to a red-hot start in 2025 as he has swatted three homers in 18 at-bats after notching just nine home runs for the Cleveland Guardians in 2024. Gimenez is unlikely to keep up with the power hitting as the season goes on, although he stole 60 bases over his previous two seasons. He should remain locked into fantasy lineups while he's swinging the bat well.

Andres Gimenez Launches Second Long Ball Of The Season
Andres Gimenez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk during their loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday afternoon. Gimenez went deep in the bottom of the third off Baltimore right-hander Dean Kremer. His two-run shot scored shortstop Bo Bichette. After going deep just nine times last season, Gimenez is off to a hot start in Toronto, launching two long balls in his first three contests. During this hot start, he has gone 3-for-12 at the plate with four RBI and a 2:3 BB:K. Gimenez has been batting cleanup during the first series, which has provided him with ample RBI opportunities. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his production as he could eventually become a must-start option. On Sunday, he will face Tomoyuki Sugano in his MLB debut.

Andres Gimenez Batting Cleanup For Toronto On Opening Day
Andres Gimenez is starting at second base and batting cleanup in his debut with the Blue Jays on Opening Day on Thursday against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Zach Eflin at Rogers Centre. Gimenez has only five career at-bats against Eflin, but he did take him deep one time for a solo shot. It remains to be seen how often the 26-year-old will be hitting cleanup for Toronto, but it's a spot that will surely give him more run-producing upside in fantasy while hitting behind Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Anthony Santander. The Venezuelan infielder had a nice spring with a .283/.377/.543 slash line, .921 OPS, two homers, two doubles, two triples, 11 RBI, two stolen bases and seven runs scored in 18 Grapefruit League games. Gimenez should be in all fantasy lineups on Opening Day where he's rostered.
