Despite being 35, Kirk Cousins was still producing at an elite level to start the 2023 season and was beginning to turn the Vikings' season around after a 1-3 start.
Cousins led his team to three straight wins and was on pace to finish as the NFL's passing leader, but he tore his Achilles against the Packers, which ended his season on the spot.
Now, there are many questions regarding Cousins' NFL future due to his devastating injury and age.

Is Kirk Cousins A Free Agent in 2024?
Kirk Cousins' contract is set to expire in the offseason, and he has expressed that he's willing to restructure his new deal to stay with the Vikings. He reportedly wants $45 million a year, and while that is right around his value, there's a chance that Minnesota might want to move on.

The unique thing about his situation is that his contract won't expire until after the deadline for applying the franchise tag, meaning the Vikings cannot tag him for a one-year, $35.9 million deal. They have to make a long-term decision.
Which Team Will Sign Cousins In The Offseason?
The Vikings have a lot of other decisions to make, like re-signing Danielle Hunter -- who was arguably their most important player last season -- and Justin Jefferson. Jefferson has stated that he needs to know the Vikings' QB situation before he re-signs.

Former and current star QBs like Drew Brees, Joe Montana, Baker Mayfield, and C.J. Stroud have predicted that Cousins will stay in Minny. But if the Vikings want to take a different route, teams like the Falcons, the Patriots, and the Raiders could make a move for him.
Staying in Minnesota would be the best thing for Cousins' 2024 fantasy value, but if he does leave for a team like Atlanta, expect his pass attempts to decline as he'll have to adjust to a new, run-first system.
