Luis Arraez Loses Arbitration Case
10 months agoMiami Marlins infielder Luis Arraez has lost his arbitration case with the club. The 26-year-old will earn the $10.6 million the Marlins filed for rather than the $12 million he had filed for prior to his hearing. He is coming off the second battle title of his MLB career as Arraez hit a hefty .354 with the Marlins in the 2023 season alongside a career-high 10 home runs and an .862 OPS across 617 trips to the plate. Perhaps his most impressive feat is the fact he struck out in just 5.5% of his plate appearances, even if he walked in just 5.7% of them. Despite some trade rumors following the lefty-swinging infielder this offseason, Arraez is expected to split his time between second base and first base with the Marlins in 2024.
