10 months agoThe New York Yankees have invited prospects Chase Hampton and Spencer Jones, the team's top pitching prospect and position-player prospect, respectively, to big-league spring training this year. Hampton, 22, was a sixth-round pick in 2022 and is ranked as the team's No. 4 prospect and No. 92 overall in baseball by MLB Pipeline. He went 4-3 with a 3.63 ERA in 20 starts for High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset in 2023 with 145 strikeouts, ranking sixth among Yankees farmhands in K's. Jones, 22, was the team's first-round pick in 2022 and is ranked as the team's top prospect and No. 84 overall. The left-handed-hitting slugger hit .267/.336/.444 with 29 doubles, 16 homers and 66 RBI in 117 games with Hudson Valley and Somerset last year.
