Nick Gordon Loses Arbitration Case With Twins
10 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Nick Gordon lost his salary arbitration hearing against the Twins on Saturday, according to a source, and will earn $900,000 for the 2024 season instead of the $1.25 million that he filed for. A left-tibia fracture that Gordon suffered in May of last season limited him to just 34 games in his third major-league season. In 93 plate appearances, he went 16-for-91 (.176) with two home runs, seven RBI and 13 runs scored for the Twins. The 28-year-old did begin a minor-league rehab assignment late in the year, though, so he should be ready to go for the start of the 2024 season. Gordon showed more power in 2022 and was on his way to more playing time in 2023, but he'll enter spring training this year having to battle for a utility role in Minnesota.
