5 months agoTampa Bay Lightning winger Brandon Hagel racked up a career-high five assists as his squad eased to an 8-2 victory against Colorado Monday night. Hagel matched a franchise record with the five-assist effort, becoming the fourth player in Lightning history to set up as many goals in a single game. The 28-year-old has quietly put together a very strong season, becoming Tampa Bay's second-highest scorer. A run of three consecutive multi-point efforts has pushed Hagel to 28 points (nine goals, 17 assists) for the year. He has formed a deadly one-two punch on the second line with Anthony Cirelli, who scored in a sixth consecutive game on Monday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

6 months agoTampa Bay Lightning winger Brandon Hagel potted his third career hat trick in Tuesday's 8-5 win over New Jersey. He scored three straight goals inside 6:25 in the second frame and added an assist to match a franchise record for most points scored in a single period. Hagel doubled his points tally for the year and now boasts five goals and three assists through six games. Tampa Bay made a small tweak to the lineup on Tuesday by adding Conor Geekie next to Hagel and Anthony Cirelli on the second line, and the move paid big dividends as the trio combined for nine points. They will head out next against the Wild, a team that is ranked second in the league with a 1.83 goals-against average.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoTampa Bay Lightning winger Brandon Hagel (undisclosed) made an early exit against Montreal on Thursday. He skipped the end of the game after logging 15:47 of ice time. Before exiting, Hagel was involved in a collision with teammate Steven Stamkos in the third period. Lightning head coach Jon Cooper hinted postgame that Hagel's exit might have been for precautionary reasons. The 25-year-old scored his 24th goal of the campaign in Thursday's 7-4 win to reach 70 points with 76 games played. He's had a fantastic year and has been in great form near the end of the regular season as well, going on a four-game point streak that includes one goal and five assists.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
