Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Tristen Newton, Connecticut ($8,400)
Newton may not have the ceiling of Tyler Kolek or Boo Buie, but he had at least 30 DraftKings points in every January game. The other two can't say that. Newton is producing consistently good numbers against a gauntlet of a schedule. The Big East is probably the third-best conference in basketball this year behind the Big 12 and SEC. The last game in which Newton didn't top 30 was in 23 minutes in a blowout win over DePaul. He put up 35.25 in the first meeting against the Johnnies in Hartford. Expect similar production today.
Sean East II, Missouri ($7,400)
Tamar Bates has been on a scoring binge for Missouri, but it was East who led the charge for the first six weeks of the season. A mid-January swoon caused the price on East to fall. It is just now starting to recover. East has scored 49 points over the last three games to go with his 11 rebounds and 19 assists. It feels safe to use him again, especially in a plus matchup with Vanderbilt.
Trey Galloway, Indiana ($6,200)
Xavier Johnson is likely out for this game after a scary fall near the end of the Iowa game. He has avoided serious injury, but considering the severity of the fall, I would be surprised if he plays. I'm going to operate and recommend it as if Johnson is out for this game. Galloway won't get any more minutes since he plays most of the game anyway, but it will open up a few more shots and allow Galloway to have the ball in his hands more often. That should lead to more assists. The ceiling for Galloway is higher than usual as long as Johnson does miss this game.
Chendall Weaver, Texas ($4,400)
Weaver is still too cheap. He had a clunker against Houston with only 12 DraftKings points, but it's not like we paid $7,000 for him. He's $4,400, people. There is an inherent risk with playing anyone in this price range. That said, Weaver still played 26 minutes, signifying that he still has an important role in the Texas rotation. The Cougars held him to one made shot and he only tried four. We're not going to see many games like that. Houston is an elite defensive team. I expect a bounce-back to around 20-25 DraftKings points for Weaver today.
Also consider: Great Osobor, Utah State ($9,700); Boo Buie, Northwestern ($8,900); Reece Beekman, Virginia ($8,300); Tamar Bates, Missouri ($8,000); Nijel Pack, Miami ($7,100); Ian Martinez, Utah State ($7,000); Micah Peavy, TCU ($6,800); Lamont Butler, San Diego State ($6,600); Trevian Tennyson, TCU ($6,200); John-Michael Wright, Oklahoma State ($5,300); Blue Cain, Georgia ($5,000); Chase Ross, Marquette ($4,100); Anthony Leal, Indiana ($3,700; if Johnson is out)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Kel'el Ware, Indiana ($8,200)
The Oregon transfer is the best player in the Indiana frontcourt. He missed two weeks with an ankle injury, but it looked like he hadn't missed a beat. Ware put up 23 points and 10 rebounds in 35 minutes against Iowa in his return. There shouldn't be any concerns about minutes. That was Ware's third straight game (that he completed) with at least 40 DraftKings points. He's the safest option among the plethora of forwards today.
Dylan Disu, Texas ($7,500)
Even Houston didn't really slow down Disu. The 28 DraftKings points were his fewest since a foul-plagued 22 minutes against Central Florida on January 17 and his second-fewest since rejoining the starting lineup. As mentioned before, Houston is an elite defensive team. It's not worth panicking over a subpar game against them. Disu should be well into the 30s against TCU.
Makhi Mitchell, Arkansas ($6,400)
The Chandler Lawson era should finally be over in Fayetteville. He and Mitchell were alternating starts for much of the year. Mitchell has back-to-back double-doubles against Missouri and Kentucky in the last two games. The Piggies aren't tanking for draft picks. They should be trying to win games. If that's true, Mitchell has to be in the lineup. 31 points and 27 rebounds in two games are no joke, especially at this price.
Evan Taylor, Vanderbilt ($4,600)
Taylor has started the last three games for the Commodores and provided 31 points, 12 rebounds, two steals, and an assist in 78 minutes. That's exactly what I want from a value play. Consistent production and guaranteed minutes. The plus matchup against Missouri is just gravy.
Also consider: Joel Soriano, St. John's ($8,600); Oso Ighodaro, Marquette ($8,400); Dawson Garcia, Minnesota ($7,800); Donovan Clingan, Connecticut ($6,700); David Joplin, Marquette ($6,400); Robbie Beran, Virginia Tech ($5,800); Ernest Udeh Jr., TCU ($4,900); Tyrell Ward, LSU ($4,700); Anthony Walker, Indiana ($4,400, if Malik Reneau is out); Parker Fox, Minnesota ($4,000)
