Christian Arroyo Signs Minors Pact With Brewers
10 months agoFree-agent infielder Christian Arroyo has signed a minor-league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers. The deal is worth $1.5 million, plus incentives, if Arroyo is able to crack the big-league roster. The 28-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the Red Sox, most recently hitting .241 with three home runs, one stolen base, and a .637 OPS across 66 appearances in the 2023 season, production that fell 35% below the league average, as per his 65 wRC+. However, Arroyo's bat graded slightly above the league average from 2021-2022 as he hit .286 with six HR and a .736 OPS across 300 trips to the plate in the 2022 campaign. He is a lifetime .252 hitter with 24 HR, eight SB, and a .693 OPS across 295 MLB contests. He will most likely vie for reps at third base with Brice Turang set for everyday reps at second base in 2024.
