Chargers Hiring Jim Harbaugh As Head Coach
11 months agoThe Los Angeles Chargers are officially moving to hire Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach. Harbaugh was in town for a second interview on Tuesday and is not expected to leave. After winning the National Championship with the Wolverines, he will now head back to the NFL for the first time since coaching the San Francisco 49ers in 2011-14. He has won at every level he's coached, beginning in 2006 at the University of San Diego. In his final two seasons as a quarterback in the NFL, he played for the Chargers in 1999-00. Harbaugh was the Coach of the Year in his first season with the Niners and led the team to Super Bowl XLVII, where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens and his brother John. He went 44-19-1 in his time in San Francisco. The Chargers finished 5-12 in 2023 and have only three playoff victories since 2008.
