Welcome to our Sleeper NBA DFS prop picks for Monday, January 15. NBA Basketball on Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday has been memorable in recent years and Monday’s 11 games are set to continue that trend. Unfortunately, the Pacers are traveling from Denver to Utah on the second night of a back-to-back, leaving them as the odd team out as a clear underdog. Outside of that, you could make a case for any team to win Monday…even the Pistons.
Sleeper offers some of the best and easiest-to-win NBA DFS games in the industry. Sleeper DFS works just like regular player prop betting -- there are no large-field tournaments to get lost in. You're not playing against other people; you're just playing against the projections. Here are some of our favorite NBA prop picks for Monday’s 11-game slate.
Announcement: We have two awesome new Props Optimizers for the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and NCAA! The PrizePicks Optimizer and Prop Bets Optimizer are both available in our new Props Premium Package, which includes exclusive access to RotoBaller's VIP Discord chat rooms for props and betting.
NBA DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Monday, January 15
Jaden Ivey UNDER 5.5 Assists
When the worst teams in the league face off, one of two things happen. The lack of defense paves the way for an abnormally high-scoring game or neither team can buy a bucket. This is a rare situation where two teams you would target an over against is actually better suited for the under. Jaden Ivey might be the focal point of this current offense, but that doesn’t mean the Pistons are converting his should-be-assists.
Ivey deserves credit for how productive he’s been in Cade Cunningham’s absence and Cunningham knows better than anyone that being pivotal to this offense doesn’t mean teammates are turning your passes to assists. He might be the one running point, but he’s only managed seven or more assists in three of the last 12 games and that is entirely on the Pistons not being able to finish possessions efficiently.
Jalen Johnson OVER 11.5 Rebounds + Assists
This over is easily achievable through rebounds alone and no matter what direction you go here, RotoBaller’s Proptimizer likes all of Jalen Johnson’s overs. The Hawks have dropped four out of their last five games and the last game versus the Wizards is honestly better off ignored. It was a bad game all-around so no reason to focus on individual struggles since Johnson’s a heavy-duty role player anyway. When Atlanta plays bad, Johnson’s stat line likely follows suit.
The Spurs are a great team to target as a bounce-back game and when these teams played earlier this season, they demolished the over. Shots will be flying and points will be scored, so if you aren’t sold on just rebounds or assists, you might as well go after points, rebounds, and assists since Johnson tends to naturally fill the stat sheet.
Anthony Davis OVER 32.5 Points + Assists
The Thunder defense is better than they look, but that doesn’t mean they are putting a stop on Anthony Davis. As we’ve seen for years, the only person that can stop Anthony Davis is himself. Whether it’s injuries or just a seeming lack of effort or toughness, the Lakers are losing every game Davis shoots 23% in regardless of anything else. These ultra-low-scoring games aren’t frequent and are usually surrounded by high-scoring responses and playing the Thunder is a perfect opportunity for a bounce-back.
In the two games versus Oklahoma City this season, Davis scored at least 25-points and grabbed double-digit rebounds. Davis has had two ‘off’ games recently, but he also scored 20 or more points 10 games in a row prior, hitting 29 points or more in six.
