Bill Belichick, Patriots Part Ways After 24 Years
11 months agoFuture Hall-of-Fame coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are parting ways after 24 seasons. Belichick led the Patriots to a 266-121 record. He wraps up his tenure with a 30-12 postseason record, nine Super Bowl trips, and six Super Bowl wins. Starting in 2003, the Patriots won 16 AFC East titles in 17 years. They didn't win it in 2008 after Tom Brady suffered a torn ACL in Week 1. Ultimately, his reign comes to an end after the team posted a 4-13 record in 2023. In four seasons without Brady, the Patriots made the playoffs just once and lost in the Wild Card Round. The 71-year-old will go down as one of the greatest coaches of all time if he does not coach another game, but a few teams around the league have been rumored to be interested in hiring him. Mike Vrabel, who played for Belichick in New England, could be the lead candidate to replace him after being let go by the Tennessee Titans.
