Rashee Rice Puts In Another Full Practice
1 year agoKansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring) put in a second straight day with a full practice on Wednesday after the Chiefs held him out of the Week 18 regular season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers as a precaution. The 23-year-old probably could have played last week, but the Chiefs chose to hold their leading receiver out in a meaningless game. He'll return for this Saturday's wild-card contest versus the visiting Miami Dolphins and their beat up defense. Rice will be pretty attractive at his $6,600 DraftKings price as quarterback Patrick Mahomes' top target (besides Travis Kelce). The Dolphins will be without cornerback Xavien Howard (foot) and potentially two of their safeties as well for this one.

Rashee Rice Doing Well In His Injury Recovery
2 months agoKansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee), who is on Injured Reserve, is doing well, which is "a good sign for next year." Rice will not play in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9, against the Philadelphia Eagles after he had surgery to fix the LCL in his right knee way back in October of last year. The 24-year-old also suffered a tear of his hamstring in 2024, but the good news is that barring any setbacks this offseason, he should be fully ready for the start of the 2025 season this fall. And when fully healthy, Rice should return to being quarterback Patrick Mahomes' No. 1 target in the passing game. Before suffering his season-ending injury, the former third-rounder had 24 catches on 29 targets for 288 yards and two touchdowns. The only thing standing in the way of his fantasy value for next season is a potential suspension for an off-the-field incident last March.

Rashee Rice, Skyy Moore Not Expected To Return In Playoffs
3 months agoKansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said on Monday that there are no plans for wide receivers Rashee Rice (knee) and Skyy Moore (abdomen) to return during the postseason. Rice injured his knee in Week 4 and needed season-ending surgery on his ACL, MCL and meniscus, so it's no surprise that he won't be ready for another playoff run in January. The 24-year-old should have a good shot at being healthy for the start of the 2025 season, but he could be facing a suspension due to off-the-field legal issues. Moore, meanwhile, has been on Injured Reserve since late October due to a core-muscle injury. When healthy, the 24-year-old has found himself buried on the WR depth chart. He couldn't corral any of his three targets in six games this year before getting hurt, and Moore had only 43 catches for 494 yards and one TD in 30 games (11 starts) in 2022 and 2023 combined.

Rashee Rice Expected To Be Out Four Months
6 months agoAfter having surgery to fix his right LCL on Tuesday, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) is expected to be out for four months, according to multiple sources. It was a best-case scenario for Rice, who will miss the rest of the 2024 season, but the good news is he's expected to make a full recovery. In addition to his knee, Rice also had a hamstring tendon repaired on Tuesday. Barring any setbacks for the 24-year-old during his rehab, he should be ready to go for the start of the 2025 season next fall. With receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) already out for the year and running back Isiah Pacheco (leg) on Injured Reserve, the Chiefs have lost their best playmakers outside of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues can obviously drop Rice at this time and look for a replacement.

Rashee Rice Has Surgery, Officially Out For The Season
6 months agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) will miss the rest of the 2024 NFL season after undergoing successful surgery on Tuesday. The second-year wide receiver suffered the injury early in the Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers after taking a hit to the knee from Patrick Mahomes trying to make a tackle following an interception. While the star wide receiver will miss the rest of the season, he is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of next year. Rice suffered no damage to his ACL or meniscus, which many thought could have been torn last week. The Chiefs will likely add a wide receiver before the NFL trade deadline in a few weeks. However, Travis Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster will see more targets and fantasy value with Rice done for the year.
