Pete Carroll Out As Seahawks Head Coach
11 months agoVeteran coach Pete Carroll is out as the Seattle Seahawks head coach following a 9-8 season in which the team did not qualify for the playoffs. It's a bit of a surprising move, but Seattle hasn't enjoyed much postseason success in recent seasons. Carroll will end his time in Seattle with a 137-89-1 regular season record, a 10-9 postseason record, two trips to the Super Bowl, and one Super Bowl victory. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Carroll could remain with the organization in a different role, but he will no longer lead the franchise. With a new coaching staff coming in, quarterback Geno Smith's job security is certainly in question. The Seahawks' head coaching job is now open for the first time since 2010 when Carroll was initially hired.
