The 2023 regular season is over. While the playoffs will keep fans entertained for the next month, there is plenty to discuss.
At the top of that list in the yearly NFL awards. While some seem like a clear-cut call, others are up for debate.
Let’s look at my picks for the MVP and many more!

The Most Valuable Player is…
The superstar quarterback is the heavy favorite to win his second MVP award in his six-year NFL career. His numbers don’t jump off the page, but the quarterback led the Baltimore Ravens to the best record this season. He set career bests in completion rate (67.2%) and interception rate (1.5%). Furthermore, Jackson locked up the MVP race with a five-touchdown performance in Week 17.
The Offensive Player of the Year is…
McCaffrey has been a fantasy football superstar for most of his career. However, he took it to another level once traded to the San Francisco 49ers. The running back hasn’t missed a meaningful game because of injury since joining the team last year. While it was a close race between him and Tyreek Hill, McCaffrey is the league’s rushing champion and the winner of this award.
The Defensive Player of the Year is…
Myles Garrett
This award is up for debate between Garrett, T.J. Watt, and Micah Parsons. However, I’m giving the award to Garrett.
The Cleveland Browns have a top-five record this season despite starting four different quarterbacks, losing Nick Chubb, both starting offensive tackles, and a million injuries on defense. Yet, Garrett played a massive role in the defense, giving up 21.3 points per game in 2023.
The Offensive Rookie of the Year is…
No one would have guessed the Houston Texans would be AFC South division champions back in August. However, that’s exactly what happened because of Stroud’s play. The former Ohio State star had arguably the best rookie season ever. While Puka Nacua made it a tough debate after setting two rookie records as a fifth-round pick, Stroud getting the Texans the division title is the difference maker.
The Defensive Rookie of the Year is…
Jalen Carter
Last year, the Philadelphia Eagles had an elite defense. Unfortunately, they severely regressed in 2023 after losing defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon to the Arizona Cardinals. The one bright spot has been Carter. The rookie defensive lineman fell into the Eagles’ lap during the NFL Draft, and the team couldn’t be happier. He has six sacks this season but has been a consistent disruption in opposing backfields.
The Coach of the Year is…
Kevin Stefanski
The Cleveland Browns have a top-five record this year despite starting four different quarterbacks, losing both starting offensive tackles to season-ending injuries, seeing Nick Chubb suffer a gruesome injury in Week 2, and several other injuries. Yet, Stefanski signed Joe Flacco off his couch and got the team into the playoffs for the first time since 2020 and the second time in the head coach’s tenure.
