The 2024-25 season has been a tricky campaign for Talbot, who owns an 8-9-2 record. He has recorded one shutout with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. The veteran netminder will hope to register his third consecutive win on Friday, a feat he hasn't accomplished since March of last year.

The most recent victory came last week with a 22-save effort in a 2-1 win. Lyon's overall record for the season stands at 3-4-0. He has allowed 2.85 goals with a .908 save percentage. While his form tends to be inconsistent, Lyon seems to have the Islanders' number and must be full of confidence ahead of Monday's outing.

The Red Wings battled out a 3-1 lead, but Lyon couldn't keep ahold of it, conceding three goals in the third period. The 31-year-old netminder has now dropped three starts in a row, with his record plummeting to 2-4-0. Lyon has a 3.13 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage for the campaign. He will give up the crease to Cam Talbot against the Kings on Saturday and might have to wait for his next opportunity for a while because Lyon hasn't been getting the job done for Detroit.
