Dereck Lively II Questionable With Ankle Sprain
11 months agoDallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II (ankle) suffered a left ankle sprain during their game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. He was forced to exit the game after clocking 18 minutes on the floor and while he didn't score at all, he posted four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and three blocks. After Richaun Holmes (personal) was ruled out for their game on Friday, Lively's status became more important for the team. It doesn't seem likely that he would play through a sprain that happened just two days prior, but he could feel good enough after warming up with the team. If he's unable to play, however, Dwight Powell would likely see some heavy minutes at center and they could play a lot of small ball with Grant Williams (questionable - ankle) or Markieff Morris (questionable - illness).
