ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been one of the top wide receivers in the NFL over the past several years. While many expected him to struggle this season without Tom Brady, the star wide receiver has been outstanding. He is the WR3 for the year, averaging 15.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Evans has played a significant role in Baker Mayfield having a career season.
Opposing teams haven’t given the wide receiver the respect he deserves. The former Texas A&M star has been unstoppable against single coverage. According to PFF, Evans has the most receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and explosive plays against single coverage this year.
Last week, the wide receiver destroyed the Jacksonville Jaguars secondary, totaling seven receptions on nine targets for 86 receiving yards, two touchdowns, and 24.1 fantasy points in a blowout win. Evans has found the end zone in 73.3% of the games this season, including six of the past seven contests.
Tomorrow, he faces a New Orleans Saints defense that typically gives him fits. However, Marshon Lattimore won’t play in this game, meaning Evans should have no trouble ripping apart whoever else covers him. Fantasy players should expect a top-five finish from the star wide receiver.
