11 months agoThe Boston Red Sox have acquired infielder Vaughn Grissom as part of their trade that sent Chris Sale to the Atlanta Braves. Boston is sending Sale and a majority of his $27.5 million 2023 salary to Atlanta in exchange for Grissom, who is a highly regarded infield prospect. Grissom has seen major league action in each of the last two seasons and owns a solid .287/.339/.407 triple-slash line with five home runs, 27 RBI, and five stolen bases across 236 plate appearances. He offers some defensive versatility and should have the opportunity to compete for an everyday role with the Red Sox in 2024.
