Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
Week 17 Quarterback Rankings: 5
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) will look to put last week's four-interception performance against Baltimore behind him when the team goes to Washington to take on the Commanders in Week 17. It's of little consolation to fantasy managers who got a near goose egg from Purdy in their playoff games last week, but his performance wasn't necessarily as bad as it seems on paper. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan called the first interception "a big mistake" but characterized the other three -- which came off of deflections -- as "pretty unfortunate".
Purdy left the game with a stinger midway through the fourth quarter but has logged full practices each day this week. He remains a solid QB1 versus a Washington defense that is leading the world in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks at 22 per game.
Gardner Minshew, QB, Indianapolis Colts
Week 17 Quarterback Rankings: 15
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew completed 20 of his 37 passes for 201 yards and no touchdowns in the team's Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He now gears up for a Week 17 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, a defense allowing the tenth-least fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
Minshew's fantasy production relies on passing touchdowns, which the Raiders have defended well this year, allowing just 19 on the season. Fantasy managers in need of a streaming option at quarterback this week may want to look elsewhere, as Minshew will likely only provide 2QB/Superflex value.
Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Week 17 Quarterback Rankings: 1
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will face off against the Arizona Cardinals during the Eagles final home game of the regular season in Week 17. The 25-year-old got back on track for fantasy managers last week after a couple of rough outings and now gets the chance to face an Arizona defense that has struggled to stop opposing passers. The Cardinals allow the ninth-most fantasy points to the quarterback position, are tied for the fourth-most passing touchdowns allowed, and are tied for the fifth-most rushing touchdowns allowed to the position.
Arizona is missing plenty of pieces on both sides of the ball at this point and is well out of playoff contention. Philadelphia could elect to ride running backs D'Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell in this one, but Hurts should be considered a locked-in top-three option at the quarterback position during many manager's fantasy football championships.
