ANALYSIS: New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has been the definition of a boom-or-bust player this season. He's had four games with 70 or more receiving yards, but also four games with 25 or fewer yards. Predicting what Shaheed is able to do on a weekly basis has been incredibly tough.
This past week against the Los Angeles Rams, Shaheed had one of his best games of the season. He was targeted nine times, catching five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. He also added a four-yard run in the game as well. It was the most yards for Shaheed since Week 8 against the Colts, when he had 153 receiving yards and a touchdown. He played 82% of the team's snaps this week, setting a new season high in snap rate in his team's 30-22 loss to Los Angeles.
Now, he has the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on deck, one of the NFL's worst pass defenses. Shaheed was quiet in the first meeting of these teams back in Week 4 as he had just three catches for 33 yards, but he has big-play potential this week against Tampa's soft secondary. Consider him an upside flex option.
