We are here to crush your playoff matchup with our PPR fantasy football running back rankings for Week 16 to help fantasy managers with those tough start/sit decisions.
Miami Dolphins De'Von Achane (toe) doesn't carry an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Since returning from a knee injury in Week 13, the Dolphins rookie back rushed for 152 yards with two touchdowns while catching 11 passes for 84 yards over three games. Achane should have a solid role in a potential shootout against the Cowboys and should be started in all league formats. Below, you will find where RotoBaller ranked Achane and other key backs such as David Montgomery, Breece Hall, Raheem Mostert, Bijan Robinson, James Conner, Chuba Hubbard, and Aaron Jones.

Antonio Gibson, RB, Washington Commanders
Week 16 Overall PPR Rankings: 45
Week 16 Running Back PPR Rankings: 20
Washington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson has been a frustrating player this season. Despite having a perfect scenario set up for him as the lead back in Week 15, the Commanders, for whatever reason, limited his touches to just nine. In Week 16, with starting back Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) being ruled out again, Gibson has another chance at a strong workload. This week, the Commanders are taking on a New York Jets team that has been a bit of a run-funnel this year.
Although their pass defense is top-notch, they're allowing the ninth most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. The fourth-year pro could be in for a redemption game against an advantageous matchup. Consider Gibson a flex option with upside in Week 16.
Breece Hall, RB, New York Jets
Week 16 Overall PPR Rankings: 24
Week 16 Running Back PPR Rankings: 13
New York Jets running back Breece Hall was completely shut down by the Miami Dolphins last week but has a great opportunity to bounce back against the Washington Commanders in Week 16. The Jets' offense is difficult to trust, especially this week with quarterback Trevor Siemian starting in place of Zach Wilson (concussion), but Hall should find success with the Commanders surrendering the eighth-most fantasy points to running backs this season.
Additionally, Washington leads the NFL in points allowed, so Hall could easily find himself in position to score at some point on Sunday. While a productive showing cannot be guaranteed, fantasy managers should have some level of confidence that Hall can perform as an RB2 in this matchup.
Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers
Week 16 Overall PPR Rankings: 43
Week 16 Running Back PPR Rankings: 22
Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers in Week 16. The 29-year-old returned to the field for the first time since Week 11 last week and gained 69 total yards against a stiff Tampa Bay run defense. With AJ Dillon (thumb) still listed as questionable, Jones should see the majority of carries in one of the best matchups for a fantasy running back.
Carolina has allowed the most rushing touchdowns in the league this year and is tied for the fourth-most receiving touchdowns allowed to running backs. With the Packers wide receiver corps potentially down three options Sunday, Jones could see a heavy workload and plenty of red zone touches against one of the league's worst run defenses. Even if Dillion is active Sunday, consider the veteran a solid RB2 in Week 16.
Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers
Week 16 Overall PPR Rankings: 51
Week 16 Running Back PPR Rankings: 24
Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard has seen at least 22 carries in three straight games while rushing for at least 87 yards in each of those contests. He will look to stay hot in Week 16's home matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers have been a plus matchup for running backs this season as they allow the ninth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Hubbard has taken over as Carolina's lead back and should see plenty of work against the Packers, keeping him on the map as a solid RB2 in fantasy this weekend.
De'Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins
Week 16 Overall PPR Rankings: 41
Week 16 Running Back PPR Rankings: 21
Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (toe) is expected to play on Sunday versus the Dallas Cowboys, according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com. The rookie missed practice on Wednesday but upgraded to a limited participant on Thursday, confirming that he's trending in the right direction.
While Dallas has deployed a strong defense all season long, their ability to stop the run has wavered over the last few weeks, including last Sunday when Buffalo Bills running back James Cook dropped 179 rushing yards, 42 receiving yards, and two total touchdowns on America's Team. Splitting touches with Raheem Mostert does lower Achane's floor, but he still boasts massive upside thanks to his game-changing speed. He'll rank as a fringe top-24 fantasy running back in Week 16.
