BALLER MOVE: Start at 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: DST2
ANALYSIS: The Pittsburgh Steelers D/ST has declined since the first half of the season. In the past four weeks, it has not finished as a top-12 defense once. The last time the Steelers finished as a top-6 defense was in Week 8. The Steelers were the DST4 after Week 8, but now they have fallen to the position of DST12.
T.J. Watt remains a force of nature. He has made 7.5 sacks in the past seven games and forced one fumble. But Alex Highsmith has been disappointing, especially in the second half of the season. After making a career-high 14.5 sacks last season, Highsmith has only made six sacks so far this season. Since Week 10, he has only made 1.5 sacks, all of which came in one game against the Cardinals, and he hasn't forced a fumble since Week 5. He had two forced fumbles before the Steelers bye week but none since.
The lack of big plays has hurt the Steelers' fantasy scoring output. They had recovered eight fumbles from Week 1 through Week 8, but they have not recovered a fumble since. The amount of points and yards they allow has not increased.
The Steelers defense faces the high-powered Bengals offense this week. Last time they played the Bengals, they only allowed 10 points and had an effective fantasy outing in some formats. But that was Bengals QB Jake Browning's first start, so Browning could play better this time around with more experience under his belt. The Steelers should be left on the bench or the waiver wire this week.
