Christian Watson Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury. He last played against the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 3, catching seven of his nine targets for 71 yards and two touchdowns. It was the third game in a row that Watson had found the end zone. He has 28 catches for 422 yards and five touchdowns this season.
Christian Watson hasn't practiced this week, which puts his status in doubt for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Fellow receiver Jayden Reed is also dealing with injury concerns ahead of this game, which really clouds the outlook for the Packers and their receivers. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Watson be a game-time decision.
Christian Watson Fantasy Football Outlook
If Watson plays, he definitely has some value as a high-end WR3 with upside based on his recent performance. He might even sneak into the WR2 conversation if Reed is held out.
The bigger question is what to think of the Packers offense if Watson is out, or if both are. Romeo Doubs would see an increase in value without Watson on the field again, while rookie Dontayvion Wicks has increased value as well. If Watson misses this game and Reed plays, Reed remains a strong fantasy option just as he's been the past few weeks. This is a very fluid situation that fantasy managers should monitor going forward.
