Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has missed the past three weeks of the season due to a thumb injury, but he has returned to practice this week.

Now heading into Week 16, what is the injury outlook for Taylor? He had appeared in just seven games all season as injuries have limited his playing time, though he's scored four rushing and one receiving touchdown this season.

Jonathan Taylor Injury Update for Fantasy Football

It's been a long season for Jonathan Taylor and his fantasy managers. After missing the first four games of the season, Taylor finally got back on the field in Week 5, but played second fiddle to Zack Moss for two weeks before finally getting a full workload. Taylor has now missed the past three games with a thumb injury.

Taylor has practiced two games in a row for the Colts, with head coach Shane Steichen indicating that Taylor has "looked good" in practice. That seems like a good sign for him to play against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, ending Taylor's three-game absence.

Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Football Outlook

With Zack Moss questionable for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, there's a good chance that Jonathan Taylor will see one of his biggest workloads of the season. His previous season high in rushing attempts came in Week 10, when Taylor had 23 carries for 69 yards and a score.

In his most recent game, Taylor had 15 carries for 91 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Buccaneers. It was the second game this year that Taylor has finished with 90-plus rushing yards, but he hasn't broken the 100-yard mark yet. A healthy Taylor should be viewed as a low-end RB1 play with upside in Week 16. Start him in all formats.
