Rhamondre Stevenson Injury Update for Fantasy Football
New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson suffered an ankle injury in the team's Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He finished that game with nine carries for 39 yards and one reception for zero yards. He has been held out of New England's past two games, with Ezekiel Elliott serving as the team's lead back.
Stevenson has been absent from practice this week, including missing Friday's practice. The fact that Stevenson hasn't been practicing is a fairly bad sign for his status on Sunday. Fantasy managers should be prepared to not have Stevenson this week, though it's worth noting there hasn't been official word yet on his status.
Rhamondre Stevenson Fantasy Football Outlook
Even if Rhamondre Stevenson suits up this week, it'd be unlikely that he'd have a full workload. Fantasy managers should expect to leave Stevenson on the bench, even if he winds up being active on Sunday. Stevenson's likely going to be a risky play at whatever point he returns this season, if he even does. The Patriots don't have much incentive to play Stevenson considering they're out of the playoff race.
As for Ezekiel Elliott, the veteran running back rates as a high-end RB2 play this week. He had 140 yards from scrimmage in the first game without Stevenson, showcasing his upside, but he struggled last week against the Chiefs, finishing with 46 scrimmage yards. This matchup against the Broncos is an incredibly appealing one.
